Solar Scavanger Hunt
Locate various light sources, and measure their radiant energy. Additionally, see how distance effects energy readings.
- Paper and Pen
- Solar Panel
- Identify different light sources around you. For example, a table lamp, a ceiling light, and the sun.
- Use solar panel and multimeter to measure the radiant energy of identified light sources.
- Test each light source individually. Meausure the raidiant energy of the source from various distances. The desk lamp and ceiling light: 1inch vs. 12 inchs; The sun.
Which light source has the most radiant energy? The sun, even at 93 million miles away!
