About Our Team

Our team is from Garden City, New York, United States. We are from Garden City High School, and are in the 9-12 age category.

As a member of the science research team, I, Lily Milone worked collaboratively with Dr. Gordon and my peers to create an innovative and efficient windmill. Using a combination of engineering and building techniques, the turbine proved to be very effective when picking up a weighted cup. With 3-D printing software I designed custom plastic blades with curvature from shells on the ends tot catch the wind. We then worked week after week to assemble the windmill and complete test runs to in order to achieve the utmost efficiency. While this windmill is only a small feat, the concept of wind power brings our earth closer to the goal of limiting and possibly ending the use of fossil fuels.
